Sony officially announced its newest flagship full-frame, mirrorless camera, the Sony Alpha A7 IV during a dedicated live stream on Thursday 21 October 2021. The camera features a 33-megapixel full-frame Exmor R CMOS sensor, the Bionz XR processing engine, and enhanced advanced autofocus capabilities. Photography experts are saying that the Sony brand has been “knocking it out of the park” over the last few years with its full-frame, mirrorless cameras over the last few years. The Sony Alpha A7 IV camera sports a new autofocus system with expanded real-time eye tracking features that not only will ensure that the human eyes and, faces will be perfectly in focus even when partially covered… but that’s not all it also can track your pets eyes too so you can get the best selfie your dog Bingo begging for food at the dinner table.

The camera’s utilizes real-time tracking and 759 phase detection AF points to ensure outstanding focus coverage with approximately 94% of the image area. the Alpha A7 IV can shoot 10fps in burst mode, while shooting video in up to 4K 60fps (10-bit 4:2:2). Additional camera capabilities provide active image stabilization to ensure smooth video performance, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz) connectivity on board, with ultra-fast data transfer with mobile devices through the Imaging Edge Mobile application.

The Sony Alpha A7 IV is not available in stores yet but, will be available starting in December 2021, priced at approximately $3,400 or €2,800 for the camera body only. But no worries, Sony will offer several lens options including an SEL2870 – Sony FE 28-70mm f3.5-5.6 – lens that will cost you a few extra $$$. Sources say the Sony A7 IV is available to pre-order from Wex Photo Video in the UK and Adorama in the USA.
